Standard of Excellence

Every year, students across the state are required to take assessments in reading and mathematics. The Kansas State Department of Education awards schools with the Standard of Excellence if the schools’ students perform at certain levels. In order for a secondary school to qualify for the Standard of Excellence designation in Reading at least 15% of students must achieve at the Exemplary Level and not more than 10% of students may receive an Academic Warning. For Mathematics, the requirements are the same except not more than 15% of students may achieve an Academic Warning.

Oxford Jr/Sr High School made the Building Standard of Excellence in Reading. The seventh grade students were amazing with 100% of the students meeting standards or better. This of course, earned the class the standard of excellence. Not to be outdone, the eighth grade also made the standard of excellence with 84.6% of students meeting standards or better. Eleventh graders finished the "hat trick" with 92.3% of students achieving meets standards or better and another standard of excellence. An incredible 95.6% of students at the junior/senior high school scored at meets standards or better!

Congratulations to our students and teachers for a job well done!!
