Shawn Burkes
Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator
Coach Burkes begins his 18th year at Oxford High School, his 2nd as the Head Football Coach. Under Coach Burkes direction, the Wildcats finished 9-1 last year and were district champions. Coach Burkes teaches high school Science and is also the high school Head Girls Basketball Coach.
Rob Hampton
Offensive Coordinator
Coach Hampton is entering his 3rd year at Oxford High School, his 2nd as Offensive Coordinator. Coach Hampton also works with the Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and Defensive Backs. Coach Hampton spent 24 years coaching football, basketball, and baseball at Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School. Coach Hampton is also the principal at Oxford High School.
Kyle Green
Running Backs/ Defensive Backs
Coach Green is entering his 2nd year at Oxford High School. Coach Green spent 2 years at Council Grove High School as an assistant high school basketball and baseball coach. Coach Green teaches high school social studies and is the Head Boys Basketball Coach at OHS.
Gary Johnson
Offensive Line/Defensive Line
Former Wildcat legend, Gary "Cheese" Johnson returned to his alma mater 2 years ago to help coach the Offensive and Defensive Line. On game nights, Coach Johnson is the "eye in the sky" as he can often be found in the press box or in the case of Wichita Independent, on top of a building helping the coaches on the ground get a better view of what is going on. Coach Johnson is an avid Nebraska football fan and lists his hero as Dr. Tom Osborne.
Josh Wheeler
Receivers/Linebackers
Coach Wheeler is entering his 5th year coaching football at OHS. After completing his football playing career at Oklahoma State, Coach Wheeler returned to help coach his alma mater. Coach Wheeler works with the receivers and the Linebackers.
